Even though this piece of art at this size with exceed the width of the entry, I wanted to enlarge it so that the actual events taking place could be seen and understood with ease. This piece of art is an especially important cultural piece because it basically dictates what Egyptians believed occurred when one died. The human on the left is walked by a jackal-headed god to the scales where his heart is weighed in comparison with a feather. If it is heavier, than the crocodile-headed creature waiting there eats it and that person cannot enjoy the perks of the after-life. He is then presented to Osiris, victorious through the judgment process. This picture tells the story of Hunefer, but was the process believed to be done by all deceased to get into the enjoyable portion of the afterlife.
