While Weston took many full length nudes of women, these individual pieces illustrate his understanding and appreciation of the body's construction. The concentration in these two pieces for instance is not in the eroticism evoked by nudity. It is instead focused on the form itself. In the first, the range of motion is explored and the curves are glorified along with the ability for all different segments of the body to work together. In the second, the slope, divots, and structure of the body becomes the focus. Each section of the body is recognizable and would be easily placed in an entire shot of a full nude, but by isolating these sections, they can be appreciated better and studied for what they are specifically instead of just part of a scanned-over whole.
