Santa Sabina is a minor church that also acts as the mother church for the Dominican Order in Rome, Italy. It has the traditional fifth century design plan of a large open rectangle with columns. The exterior door is said to be the original to the building. Covering it are carvings of Christ's life, some of the earliest of the crucifixion still around. Behind the altar is a massive fresco mosaic from 1559 that replaced the original apse mosaic. It shows Christ flanked by saints and lambs drinking from a stream.
